RESTORATIVE DENTAL MEDICINE
The branch of dentistry that deals with the removal of caries and the placement of "fillings" (fillings). Caries is a type of infectious disease caused by bacteria that lead to the destruction of hard dental tissues; enamel and dentin. Caries can only be removed in a dental office with the help of a turbine and a drill. After removal, the tooth needs to be reconstructed with some aesthetic material (eg composite filling).
